Richard Allen

Richard is one of the most successful ever British triathletes. He is the only British triathlete to have won 9 National Elite British Championships covering every triathlon distance and duathlon. In the UK victories include all the major British classics of London, Ironman UK 70.3 and Windsor. In the US he has finished top 5 in Chicago, St Anthony’s and St Croix. He has a personal best World Ranking of 9th. Richard was very proud to be part of the Sydney Olympic Games Squad and the Manchester Commonwealth Games Squad. As a junior he won the European Championships and finished 2nd twice at the World Championships.

Richard retired from triathlon at the end of 2006 enjoying some time out doing other activities such as skiing and rugby, recovering mentally and physically. Following 15 years at the top of the professional sport Richard turned his focus to triathlon coaching and consultancy. He launched the RichardAllenFitness.com Ltd company and now enjoys coaching and consultancy work alongside his team of carefully selected coaches and staff. He is now able to pass on his vast experience to others and give something back to the sport that gave him so much.  However Richard is now back in training and is hoping to race again in 2009 at the highest level with the single motivating factor of raising money and awareness for his chosen charities.
